Voicemail Systems | Interchange

The Avaya Interchange is a powerful and efficient way to streamline your communications by linking stand-alone messaging systems from multiple vendors throughout your organization into a company-wide messaging network.

The Interchange is an efficient server-based solution that links your individual voice or multimedia messaging systems to an Interchange server. With its unique "store-and-forward" approach to networking, the Interchange receives messages, performs the necessary protocol conversions, and delivers the message to one or multiple recipients. This "hub-and-spoke" network topology is far more flexible, simpler to manage, and easier to expand than conventional point-to-point connections where each messaging system is directly linked to every other messaging system.

Each messaging system requires only a single connection to the Interchange server and new systems can be easily added without affecting existing servers. All message routing, protocol conversions, administrative functions, and management capabilities reside on the Interchange server so that the infrastructure is less costly to create and easier for administrators to manage.

The Interchange networks virtually any vendor's messaging system you may have in your enterprise, protecting your investment in current messaging systems. It can also lower long-distance costs when you use your TCP/IP wide area network to transport messages. And with its ability to network from three to as many as 500 remote locations and up to 500,000 individual subscribers, the Interchange can expand your messaging network as your enterprise grows.
